History and Current Ownership

Atty. Mark Saripkin is the chairman of a 9 member board of directors, Randle Catron is the executive director of Beale Street Development Corporation. Catron is also the developer of The Historical Daisy/Interpretive Center on Beale. Catron was a staff member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King and Dr. Ralph Abernathy. After the Poor People's campaign in Washington, D.C., Dr. Abernathy encouraged everyone to go back into their communities and work to bring about change for the betterment of mankind. Catron, along with an interracial Board of Directors, tackled the redevelopment of Historical Beale Street. Contact us to learn more about our current community work.
